A Pink Elephant Parade

Hi!

I have been preparing for my craft fair

TOMORROW!!!

No, I will not panic.
No, I will not panic.
No, I will not panic.

I have needed to be brief in my last few blogs
(Really? Is that possible for me to do?)

Today I would like to share with you one of my treasuries
that I have put together on etsy.
None of my shop's items are allowed to be listed.
It is a fun way to support etsy,
support other shopsellers on etsy,
and day dreaming shopping!

Apparently blogspot today does not want to underline
and put in blue all of my links.
Sorry, it's really not me!
So you will have to look just a bit harder to find the links.
It's worth it however!

Here is a direct link:

I have just taken little thumbnails of each item
(there are 16 items in each treasury).
To really see the actual item go see the pix on etsy.
Those pictures will be larger, and usually you have an option
for several different views of the listing.

I like pink elephants, I think they are fun!
I love real elephants, and hope to actually touch one, one day.

I just love that Elephant Tea Set! Really, really fun kitschy!

When was the last time you watched Disney's DUMBO?
Wonderful movie.
If you have kids, or have access to them, gather a group together
and have PINK ELEPHANT NIGHT!
Of course, part of the night will be spent watching DUMBO!

You should have pink elephant ice cream
with some pink tinted cake.
Get one of these vintage cake topppers for it:

You can pass out special party favors, perhaps like this one:

I hope you have enjoyed my little tour into DUMBO fantasy!
And remember, if you see a pink elephant
and it's not on the tv,
you might need to go to bed and get some rest!!

The softer side of fall

Hello!

I am kind of super busy today, getting ready for my
BIG CRAFT SALE at the Adams County Fairground,
FALL FESTIVAL CRAFT FAIR
Saturday, October 1,
9am - 4pm

I need to run to XPedX to pick up some packaging for my items,
cut another 100 at least business cards,
help my son pack up as he is moving tomorrow,
finish at least one beaded bracelet before Saturday
get my display set up at home, to make sure all fits,
and hopefully get a few more 'ribbons' finished.

These are made from an Art Nouveau Alphabet that I have tweaked, resized, tweaked some more and printed, then hand colored each letter.
Yeah, really.
These are NOT decals, rub ons, etc. I have hand colored each one with art pens!
I have the sets ready to go, I "just" need to put them on ribbons, add the ribbon embellishments, and back them with cardstock!!!
I do really like how they look however.
any-who-how,

I would like to share with you today an Etsy Treasury that I have put together.
"The softer side of fall"
I have to say, this might be the 'most favorite' treasury I have ever done.

The colors are just soothing to my creative spirit.
I am sorry I don't have time to list each item individually.

You can see the treasury here:

You should be able to just click on the link above,
and your computer will whisk you away to the treasury!

All of my photos today are from this treasury,
with the exception of the bottlecap ribbons that I have made.

Take a peek, and enjoy!
(with a nice cup of Maxwell House International cafe - hazelnut is a perfect !)

My silent International Friends

Greetings!

My blog has now had over 70,000 pageviews since around May, 2011.
I am amazed.
I am humbled.
I am very happy!

I still can't believe it, and check back almost daily to make sure
 I read those numbers right!
and they keep growing....

Today I would like to say THANK YOU to all of you that are interested
in what I might have to say. I truly am humbled.
Guess I better check spelling more carefully!

I would like to mention, and add some fun things in along the way,
all the different countries that visited my blog in the last 5 months.
Whew!
that's a big list, so I will have to split it up.

Yes, Michael,
I will not write a book.
I will not write a book.
I will not write a book.

I may not put these in exact alphabetical order,
so don't panic if your country doesn't come up next!
I'll get to you!
:0)

We covered BRAZIL yesterday.

Next we have the NETHERLANDS.

2 Dutch children. Use for embroidery, coloring pages, or paper dolls!

Here is a big THANKS to JAPAN.

C.1912

THE CZECH REPUBLIC!
I am getting ready to include the Czech Republic in a future blog,
so I have lots of lovely photos and info for you, at a later time.

Up next is TURKEY.
Thank you Turkey, for your support!

These are from a booklet of Middle Eastern Country Paper Dolls.
As you see, this includes many other nations also.
It includes another country that has followed me -
the UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
Here is a costume set from the above paper doll set:

To finish for today, let's give a big cheer for CANADA!

Canada, in Epcot, DisneyWorld, Florida, USA

Thanks!
Feel free to leave a comment, and NOT be a silent International Friend!!!

I have recently made a few new treasuries on etsy.
Check them out!

No Mom, I'm NOT wearing white shoes....after Labor Day!

A Pink Pat of Flamingos

Shalom!

(Hebrew for Hello and Peace)

Those silly flamingos, they want to land in my blog again!
I told them no, I already had a blog on flamingos,
but they insist.
I resist.
They try to threaten me with flamingo poop all over my yard.
I tell them I have a GREAT DANE,
a big dog, with big....poop.
They can't scare me.
They threaten a huge honk-fest.
Oh, well......okay...
I make a new treasury on etsy:

So, are they happy already?
No.
They insist - only a BLOG will do.
sigh.
okay!
What can one do when trying to reason with a flamingo?

I did have a lot of fun putting together a Flaming Pink Flamingo treasury!
I found enough super items to make another one,
only a Peach Flamingo treasury.
I haven't come up with a clever title yet, so it is waiting to be finished.

Do you have a clever title for my treasury?
Let me know, and I will give you credit!

Yum Yum Yum for the Tum-Tum Tum!

Here's a plate to eat them on -

Should we all wear hair nets whilst serving the treats?
I've found some for us -

You know, with fancy cookies, you have to have a PARTY!!!

Whatever shall I wear to the Pink Flamingo Party?

No, perhaps that's too casual for this sugar cookie affair.
Perhaps this will do -

Only, I'm not blonde or skinny...

Perhaps if I wear these,  no one will notice
that I am not blonde or (that dirty word).

or this pretty necklace?

Nah, too fancy now. I'll save them for later.

Now THIS looks just perfect -

And maybe this for my hair!

Alice is such a show-off. I wonder what she will be wearing?

I definitely think we should decorate for the party -

I love this sign for the door -

Oh! I almost forgot to send invites!

Hmmmmm, Nancy is always soooo high-bred in her mind,
maybe I should send her this one instead:

Oh, that Nancy. She always has to bring something...
I better find a dish for these Jordan almonds -

okay, yeah, they are pretty!

Well, yes, I do really like this dish, but perhaps the pastel almonds
will look better in this one -

Here's a little activity while we wait for everyone to show up:

And a fun and yummy time was had by all....

To make the party ending perfect, I passed out one of these to each guest,
so they can remember that Flamingos
can be
very insistent.

Now get your big pat of flamingos off my lawn!!!
