Little Bo Peep Nursery Rhymes with Mother Goose

BAAAAHHH!
(that's sheep talk for Good Morning!)

Little Bo Peep Barbie, 1996

Let' have fun with Little Bo Peep
and her numerous, naughty sheep!

vintage illustration

Little Bo-Peep
Little Bo-Peep has lost her sheep,
            And can’t tell where to find them;
Leave them alone, and they’ll come home
And bring their tails behind them.

Little Bo-Peep fell fast asleep,
            And dreamt she heard them bleating;
But when she awoke, she found it a joke,
For still they all were fleeting.

Then up she took her little crook,
            Determined for to find them;
She found them indeed, but it made her heart bleed,
For they’d left all their tails behind ‘em!

It happened one day, as Bo-Peep did stray
Unto a meadow hard by –
There she espied their tails, side by side,
All hung on a tree to dry.

She heaved a sigh, and wiped her eye,
            And over the hillocks she raced;
And tried what she could, as a shepherdess should,
That each tail should be properly placed.

I love this version of Little Bo Peep,
with all the verses!
It's a fun, rhyming ditty
on the life of a little shepherdess,
and a flock of rebellious, forgetful sheep!

Let's try out some scherensnitte with sheep:

from an out-of-print BackStreet Original
Scherensnitte Booklet

Cut this from a pretty blue paper, and then back it with linen white.
Cute!
Perfect for a nursery,
or a sheep farmer,
or shabby chic decorating
or....

I always have to play
with my paper dolls -

These are paperdolls from Denmark.
I love her storybook costumes.

These are from a vintage McCall's magazine.
I can't quite read the date, but the note with it says 1925 - 1929.

unknown printing date, vintage song sheet

Of course, no day would be complete
without a little coloring:

Perhaps the little sheep weren't really naughty, they just wandered into a maze like this:

Actually, I think this is just a geometric sakura flower coloring page.
Did I get you to try it out as a maze?
:0)

I will be out of town for a couple of days, so there won't be blogs for Wednesday
or
Thursday.

Why not have some fun, and browse through my past blogs?!

My husband reminds me I don't have to
write a book in every blog!

A fun little beaded safety pin
pin for you to make.
Look up directions on a previous blog.

You could also use this as a beading pattern -
Use large pony beads if you want.

Or use the little seed beads that I love so much!
You could make several in a row, and turn it into a beaded bracelet.

Next is an example of
Papel Picado
(or Mexican Papercutting):

Have a super-duper couple of days.

Spring quotes, song sheets, free paper doll and a super chicken recipe

peep, peep, peep - Why, hello Spring!

The March winds are the morning yawn.”

I am a totally Spring Person! I crave the sun, the warmth.
And yes, I like summer too!
I look forward to seeing the green shoots starting to poke their heads up, like little green thermometers checking the weather.
Once I started planting Spring bulbs in the fall, Spring is that much more wonderful! I adore daffodils of any kind - the big ones, the skinny ones, the plain yellow, the yellow & orange, the white & orange....Love them all!

“Where man sees but withered leaves,
God sees sweet flowers growing.”
~Albert Laighton

Here is the wonderful chicken recipe I've been telling you about:

Mrs. Shidlers Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas
a recipe my sister gave me

~3 cans cream of chicken soup
~1 pint sour cream
~8 oz. diced green chilies
~1 lb. grated cheddar cheese (I usually use CoJack cheese)
~tortilla chips, broken
~2 - 3 chicken breasts, cooked and cut up

Combine soup, sour cream, chilies and chicken in a bowl.
Place layer of broken tortilla chips in bottom of 9x13" pan.
Spoon 1/2 of soup mixture over the chips.
Top with 1/2 of the cheese.
Repeat (chips - soup - cheese).
Bake at 325' for 30 minutes, uncovered.
Yum.
Not too many ingredients, and none of them hard to find.
Delicious.
What a great recipe!

Even Chef Pluto would approve!
“Spring makes its own statement,
So loud and clear that
The gardener seems to be only
One of the instruments,
Not the composer.”
-Geoffrey B. Charlesworth

Here is a paperdoll with lovely Little Bo Peep costumes:
A sweet Little Bo Peep Barbie.

I'm working on several projects right now. One of them is reverse decoupage glass plates. Another one is making cards with my kirigami cuttings.

I think we have finally gotten most of the kinks out of our computer vs. camera problems. Who knew a computer could be so snobbish as to not recognize my scanner or my camera downloads?
We finally bowed to the computer and purchased a printer/scanner/fax-in-one that it might deign to recognize.
It will let us know.
It reserves the right to refuse this acknowledgement at any time, with out previous notice.
I think the credit card companies are in cahoots with my computer.....

credit card companies.
On that ducky note, I will bid you adieu.
